Dr Najma Khan-Bourne is a consultant clinical neuropsychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience of working with acquired neurological conditions.
She trained at the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London and has obtained the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) of the British Psychological Society. As such she is listed on the BPS Division of Neuropsychology’s Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. She is also a chartered clinical psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council that regulates psychologists.
Dr Khan-Bourne has had several clinical appointments within the NHS in the associated prestigious hospitals of the Bethlem & Maudsley and Kings College Hospital, London in a variety of posts covering the full range of acquired neuropsychological issues including traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, neuro-oncology and the dementias, as well as neuropsychiatric conditions.
She has an interest in professional issues that affect neuropsychological rehabilitation and as such she has worked with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and the Royal College of Physicians. She is an active member of the Division of Neuropsychology’s Executive Committee and is Chair of the Policy Unit.
While she maintains her professional development she herself is regularly invited to teach and provide clinical supervision to others.
Dr Khan-Bourne is registered with all the major medical insurance companies including Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva, Cigna, WPA and Prudential. She regularly provides expert witness services and is on the Bond Solon National Register of University Certified Expert Witnesses and registered as an Expert Witness with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
