We work with case managers to provide assessments and rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injuries in the context of the medico-legal process.

We feel rehabilitation works best where there is a joined up approach within the multiprofessional framework and so we are very happy to work jointly and flexibly with other professionals as well as carrying out direct 1:1 neuropsychological rehabilitation  – we take an individual approach to every case depending on the client’s clinical needs. We have training and expertise in various psychological therapies and approaches to cognitive rehabilitation. Our services include working with a range of emotional problems (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD), cognitive problems (e.g. memory, attention, executive problems) and neurobehavioural issues (e.g. irritability and anger, impulsivity). We can also support families and carers.

We will consider each referral and following discussion, Dr Khan-Bourne and the team will provide input where appropriate or recommend appropriate onward referrals. We have an extensive professional network including neurology, neuropsychiatry and neuroradiography and so this is generally a seamless process.

Following receipt of instructions, a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is carried out and a rehabilitation plan prepared, based on best practice and tailored to individual needs. We carry out domiciliary visits and work in the community. We use a modular, goal setting approach so that we can carefully monitor progress and understand any roadblocks to recovery.

While we do not provide an emergency crisis service we will work with case managers and statutory providers to advise on management of risk issues.

Our multidisciplinary team members regularly communicate with each other enabling us to provide a service that is both clinically and cost effective.

Our terms and conditions for medico-legal rehabilitation are available on request. We have a clear fee structure and provide comprehensive quotations.
